 Colombia!

Always when I talk about Colombia the first thing that I use to say is that my country is an amazing place. I have a lot of foreign friends who have a different view about this territory. Unfortunately those thoughts about the country are not positive because the same media is the responsible to show to the people abroad only the bad side of Colombia. I think that like a normal nation it has problems like terrorism, drugs, corruption etc, but if you check it out inside you can find an awesome treasure.

Colombia is a country with different cultures in every single department. If you go to the Atlantic coast you can find apart to the good and kind people wonderful places that you won’t forget. Beautiful beaches, delicious food and all a different world inside this little country. It is like a dream.

We have in our country the pacific coast too. In august you can have a meeting with the whales that always come to visit us by this month.  the thing is that whatever you want to go inside this country you won’t have time to be bored because you will find different things, new challenges, new people, different customs, different accents and all this in Colombia. There isn’t way to love to stay in Colombia come here and visit the country could be the most amazing experience in the life, in conclution Colombia is a country full of surprises to offer and give to foreign and locals. Step by step it won’t be in news scaring the people like a dangerous place to visit instead it will be like a wonder place where you have to be at least once in your life.

Biodiversity in Colombia

Colombia is listed as one of the world’s “megadiverse” countries, hosting close to 10% of the planet’s biodiversity. Worldwide, it ranks first in bird and orchid species diversity and second in plants, butterflies, freshwater fishes and amphibians. With 314 types of ecosystems, Colombia possesses a rich complexity of ecological, climatic, biological and ecosystem components. Colombia was ranked as one of the world’s richest countries in aquatic resources, which is explained in part by the fact that the country’s large watersheds feed into the four massive sub-continental basins of the Amazon, Orinoco, Caribbean, Magdalena-Cauca and the Pacific. The country has several areas of high biological diversity in the Andean ecosystems, characterized by a significant variety of endemic species, followed by the Amazon rainforests and the humid ecosystems in the Chocó biogeographical area. This varied richness represents a significant challenge for implementing sustainable development initiatives. However, a considerable part of these natural ecosystems has been transformed for agriculture, primarily in the Andean and Caribbean regions. It has been estimated that almost 95% of the country’s dry forests have been reduced from their original cover, including close to 70% of typically Andean forests.

The primary terrestrial biomes in Colombia have undergone several changes: 53% of the mainland is still covered with natural forests, which account for more than half of the terrestrial animals and plants, and more than two-thirds of terrestrial net primary production. One of the most threatened forest ecosystems is the dry forest, whose range is around 2% of its original extension. About 2% of the Colombian mainland is covered by moorlands, which are considered one of the most important ecosystems for human well-being because of the source of water they provide to more than three-quarters of the population in these areas. The Amazon and Andean regions have the highest number of plant species, followed by the Pacific, the Caribbean region and the Orinoquía. Colombia’s biodiversity is not only important for the country’s natural heritage and the preservation of unique species in the world, it is also essential for guaranteeing basic conditions for the improvement of human welfare, social equality and economic development today and in the future. Moreover, biodiversity and its functions and processes provide direct-use goods and services, such as food, medicines, fuel, wood and water as well as indirect-use services, such as climate regulation, prevention of disasters, soil formation, water purification and recreation.

Opinion 

Colombia´s is a richer country in biodiversity, but nevertheless   we are destroying this wealth throwing  trash, polluting rivers, cutting down trees, burning forests, using wild animals as pets etc.  Because is important that we become aware of the damage we are causing to our environment  and star building a better future

The people in Colombia is really happy, everyone who visited Colombia says the same: " the Colombian people is really happy, helper and special".

The Colombian food is one of the best food on the world, is very delicious, because each region has a special dish.

Colombia has  variety  of food some are very very stranges  ,because  these are animals or nourishment  that are not comun, the foods  more stranges are:

The "hormiga  culona" by to be a gastronomic curiosity of the regionof santander These succulent insects of prominent tail are toasted alive and seasoned with salt, sothat they are suitable for consumption.

 The second is the curious "sweet potato" in the region ofboyacaThis particular jam is the product of fermentation of the variety of Pope 'riche' in ahole created in the Earth to about 50 cm in depth for two months. Its flavor is strongand sticky texture.

the third is  "the mojojoy  is a gastronomic  atraction of the region of AmazonasCan be eaten raw, fried or grilled.

the fourth is "the cuy  asado" is the most representative dish  of theregion of nariño

It is customary to eat roasted and it is seasoned with salt, garlic,cumin you go throught with a stick from head to tail and is roasted until themeat is tender on theinside and toasted on the

 outside. They tell their followers that the cheek meat is the best.

the fifth is " the chiguiro" is one of the favorite meat by the inhabitants  of the region of the Llano 

Its preparation is simple. The meat is seasoned only with salt and  once on the grill,you will be adding beer to prevent it from drying.

Finally "the gurre" or "armadillo" is a piece of  meat is known as the meat of the seven flavors some are  the  of pork, chicken, and turkey this food is of the region of Amazon as.

Many are the ways to prepare it. Some prefer it to roast into the same shell,otherfried to enjoy it as if it were a pork and Indians, for example, consume it in a stewprepared with smoked meat, bananas, potatoes and cassava.

The education in Colombia is a important topic and is one  aspect in that our country should better to the low quality of the same. The most inexplicable is that our current basic education is not dedicated to the most important: to develop transferable skills to think, live, play, read and write. These skills should be devoted entirely basic education. 

In Colombia there is very little we are doing to attack deeply and agreed the problem of quality of education. On the one hand, teachers are poorly paid and have little social and cultural recognition to the complexity of the work they perform. In the education greatly influences the social stratum when it should not be There are big differences between public and private education and the Colombians will should try change and better that.

Its capital is Bogotá, one of the places to visit in Colombia with more tourist city of Cartagena de Indias.Tourism in Colombia has always been limited by warnings of internal conflicts. However, in recent years the number of foreign visitors has increased thanks to the improved security in the country. Trips to Colombia have increased and some of its cities are already recognized worldwide for its beauty and its monuments. The most recommended places to visit are Barranquilla, Bogota and La Candelaria, Cali and Cartagena de Indias, each with a rich and exceptional environment.The best times to travel to Colombia are for its many festivals, fairs and carnivals as the Flower Fair in Medellin, Barranquilla Carnival or Fair of Cali. In the tourist information Colombia are the most significant dates and places you can not miss if you want to know Colombia. Country dance and salsa, great charm and lots of history.

Colombia. A paradise.

Colombia is a mythological place, privileged by nature.

It is the most BIODIVERSE COUNTRY PER SQUARE METER IN THE WORLD: Colombia has 14% of the flora and fauna of the planet; it is the fifth in natural resources and the 12^th in number of protected areas. It is a paradise for biologists because it is one of the few places in the world where you can still find new species of flora and fauna, since 50% of the territory remains unexplored. This is unthinkable in other Spanish speaking countries like Cuba or Spain, which have already been explored in full.

It is the second most biodiversity country on earth, among 195 nations, and the number one worldwide n flora and fauna per square kilometer. For example : the ornithological diversity is unique, since 20% of bird species known in the world fly in the Colombia skies, it has greater biological diversity than Russia , a country 15 times bigger than ours, or Australia, considered as a continent in English. Colombia has three biosphere reserves and 54 natural reserves areas. Chocó department is among the most biodiversity places on earth. The Chocó is the rainiest hemisphere.

Definitely to talk about our country is a proud, because there are many beautiful things it has in comparison with other countries, although many nations have bad concept about us because of the conflict, I think it is no shame. We know that in all countries and nations, there are always positive and negative aspects, but our country has really great riches of which we should feel lucky; because we can appreciate and enjoy all the biodiversity it offers us; such as national parks in different departments and wildlife sanctuaries. We also have the advantage of having several islands in two completely different oceans; the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. Among the islands of the Atlantic Ocean or Caribbean Sea, we find San Andres and Providence and the Pacific and Cocos Mampelo. Also it has five shrines: Cartagena, the National Park Katios, Mompox, San Augustine and inland. You can also combine ecotourism with adventure sport, because there are many recreational center where you can enjoy not only nature, but also some sport; on the other hand we also find that our country is internationally recognized in the field of biology by the constant discovery of new specie. It is common to find new species of animals and plants, because every year Colombia adds at least one new species of flora and fauna for the pleasure of science and the joy of humanity.    In short, our Colombia as well as being a paradise, is like the hardest natural reserve to replace the planet.

Political and peace

The problem in Colombia is that there are many candidates who promise peace in Colombia but have failed, the situation becomes stronger and is something that could not be controlled.

people who are in peace talks in Havana-Cuba is a clear example that takes four years in these dialogues and has not solved anything about this problem even worse have not advanced 50% since every day put a new subject matter.

Peace must be performed from the social part that the country is experiencing a lack of support to the lower strata.

another view people do not want to reach the point of peace because there is no control on their children, no economic contributions, no education in our country, no civic culture, there is nothing to fight alone for drug trafficking.

The best solution out there to solve this problem is to be handled in a way that peace this influence to the lower strata.

Education should be the main reason to start by talking about peace and work because it is vital to point people to help them have a better education for their children, Colombia currently has the lowest rates of Latin America.

METRO APPROVAL OF BOGOTA

the day October 27, 2015 was approved the money for the subway in Bogota has been disbursed $ 9.6 billion to this project because a lot of money is at stake we as citizens think if this time the government will comply with the above or will remain a delusion so that they earn more money because sometimes seems it command only makes these ideas to see where else can you get money for them to benefit from each weight Colombians give to the obligations of this country as pay taxes, and garbage services very high.

COLOMBIAN OPINION

I thought we were in a terrible country, but looking the situation in France, Syria; Mexico and other countries I can look we are in a good position, we have internal conflict, drug dealers, streets with violence but I love Colombia and that things happen in all the world.

We have a lot of national dishes, like lechona, tamales, sancocho and much more; animals Like hippopotamus and others. Touristic places like Monserrate Mountain, Zipaquira’s salt mine, a river with 7 colors water which name I cannot remember, in Cartagena the saint Felipe’s castle, Rosario islands, the public square, and the walls for protection.

Colombia have people with fame like Shakira, Sofia vergara, John Leguizamon, Juanes and much more; but we have problems too like the congress or the politics in general, a lot of them stole money from the city, the cops do not work efficiently and try to receive bribes from the people all the time.

The medical processes have problems, The Medical insurances companies do not pay to the hospitals, so the hospitals cannot give service, the jails are full of people and they are surviving in bad conditions, with bad food, sleeping in the floor, Being ill all the time.

But in general we are better than other countries and we are not in war, the people work a lot here and they look to the future with hope, searching good results from the government.

The Day of the Little Candles.
