No matter where you are, Valentine’s Day is a day for love and friendship and a great time to show those you love how you feel.

Difference between love and friendship valentines

Valentine's Day 14 February

What is Valentine's Day? St Valentine's Day is an annual festival to celebrate romantic love, friendship and admiration. Every year on 14 February people celebrate this day by sending messages of love and affection to partners, family and friends. Couples send Valentine's Day cards and flowers and spend special time together to honour their love for each other.
The Early History of Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day is named after Saint Valentine, a Catholic priest who lived in Rome in the 3rd Century. There are many stories about St Valentine and over time these stories grew into the legend we know today. Devoted to Rome and therefore passed a law preventing them from marrying. St Valentine began to marry these soldiers in secret Christian ceremonies and this was the beginning of his reputation for believing in the importance of love.

Eventually Valentine was found out and jailed for his crimes against Claudius. While imprisoned, Valentine cared for his fellow prisoners and also his jailor's blind daughter. Legend has it that Valentine cured the girl's blindness and that his final act before being executed was to write her a love message signed ‘from your Valentine'. Valentine was executed on 14 February in the year 270.

Valentine's Day Symbols
The practice of sending love messages developed into people sending special cards expressing their affection. These cards were beautiful creations handmade by the sender and individually designed to show how much they loved the recipient. Cards would usually contain sentimental verse, proclaiming the beauty of the receiver and how much they were loved.

Colombia’s Day of Love and Friendship
The rest of the world celebrates Valentine’s Day on 14 February, but Colombia has never been one to go with the flow. Rather, on the Day of
Love and Friendship, citizens go a little loopy sending love letters, exchanging gifts, and indulging in a bout of ‘secret friend’ (known to the rest of the world as Secret Santa, whereby gifts are anonymously given to one’s designated person along with clues as to one’s identity).

Salta at a glance that the message of love, charity, peace and hope that brought us our Lord Jesus Christ is fully divorced from these bloody images that portray witches, witches, walking dead, vampires and other monsters that have nothing constructive. Halloween is, in itself, a "celebration" of evil. Halloween has its roots in Samhain, the festival where the Celts of Ireland and Great Britain announced the end of summer and the arrival of the "New Year". The participants wore masks and made bonfires to scare away evil spirits. Animal sacrifices were also made."Halloween today is, above all, big business"
